HLTAID009 Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
It is recommended that participate holding this certificate renew their skills and knowledge every 12 months
There are no barriers to entry on the grounds of gender, political or cultural background.
Participants needs to be able to complete 2 minutes of continuous adult CPR on the floor, to pass an assessment.
Minimum age requirement 14 years.
Method:
– Face to Face
Duration: 1.5 hours approximately
– eLearning with theory questions
Duration: 2 hours approximately
- First Aid Industry Standards
- Training in legislation regarding duty of care, consent & negligence
- Australian resuscitation council guidelines
- First aid kits
- Basic hygiene techniques
- (DRSABCD) Danger, Response, Send Help, Airway, Breathing, CPR, Defibrillation
- Recovery position on an adult and infant
- Basic training in CPR on an adult manakin
- Basic training in CPR on an infant manakin
- Drowning
- ISBAR Handover
- Importance of debriefing
- Psychological impacts
- The use of a defibrillator (AED)
- Two minutes CPR on an adult/infant manikin including recovery position and AED use
- Respond to an emergency
- Manage in line with ARC guidelines the unconscious casualty
- Communicate the details of the incident – handover to ambulance officer
